By now you may have guess that girl's hockey is a big part of the Havel Household.

Shut out Cancer will be offering one $250.00 Goalie Hockey Camp Scholarship. The lucky recipient will be able to use the scholarship to attend any goalie hockey camp of their chooseing.
I'm sure many of you are like me in that you have that one great camp that you love attend. No matter what you always make the effort to go because you take away so much from your time on the ice. Maybe there are some that would like to but because of the cost it just may not be feasible. For me going to goalie camp is the high light that I look forward to every summer. I have my favorite shooters that try to snipe me and I always look forward to going back to camp to stuff them on their attempts.
My parents have made it a priority for my brother Parker, sister Olivia and me to have this opportunity. Our trips to Toronto have given our family so many amazing memories. Over the past four summers my parents have turned our trips to Toronto into a family vacation sacrificing so many other things to ensure we can go to camp. But in the process we have built so many traditions around going to goalie camp as well. We have never missed starting our time in Toronto with a quick stop by the Hockey Hall of Fame to take a quick run through and get our picture taken by the Stanley Cup. I have even taken it so far that I wear the same hockey T-shirt each year. (You know hockey players and superstitions!) Shut Out Cancer has been so well received and hockey fans have been so supportive to our cause that I am excited to be able to offer a $250.00 scholarship opportunity to someone who would like to attend a goalie camp of their choosing. I hope this scholarship enables someone to continue on with a tradition they love. Maybe this will give someone a chance to go to a camp that they have always wanted but couldn't quite afford. To apply for the scholarship all you need to do is fill out the scholarship form and write a one page essay on: Why you love being a goalie and how has hockey enriched your time with your family.
